Sometimes something of little world importance moves me. Like today when I refueled my truck at the Valero gas station in Porter, Texas. There, a black hungry mongrel dog appeared at the pump looking for something to eat. It was a she with drooping teats, and a forlornly-wrinkled brow. And totally helpless, jerking her head in a desperate search for a helping hand, for food. It was clear the dog had nobody and nothing. Hanging on to life was her specialty.
